Nanotechnology

Nanotechnology is an interdisciplinary field. Nanotechnological inventions are increasingly applied for example in medicine, material technology, chemistry, semiconductor technology and biotechnology.

The term nanotechnology covers entities with a controlled geometrical size of at least one functional component below 100nm in one or more dimensions susceptible to make physical, chemical or biological effects available which are intrinsic to that size. It covers equipment and methods for controlled analysis, manipulation, processing, fabrication or measurement with a precision below 100nm.

Papula-Nevinpat lays strong emphasis on understaning the characteristics of patenting nanotachnological inventions. Our attorneys Dr. Teemu Lang and Dr. Dmitri Popov have published a report "Patenting of Nanotechnology - the Russian Landscape" in October 2008. Our attorneys have given lectures in many conferences of the field (for example NTNE 2007 and NTNE 2006).

Nanotechnical inventions:

  • carbon nanotubes
  • quantum dot lasers
  • nanocomposites
  • nanolaminates
