Signal processing
Signal processing applications cover a wide variety of areas. The most typical examples include mobile telephones and television receivers. Allmost all aspects of electronics include signal processing. Signal processing has an important role especially in the radio technology, i.e. wireless transmitters and receivers.
Signal processing means modification of signals for example by amplifying, filtering or resampling, or by modifying the waveform by some other means. The aim is to end up with the desired kind of signal in terms of the requirements concerning the signal level, signal quality and immunity, and also meeting the official requirements, however maintaining at the same time the information content of the original signal as unchanged as possible. There are many applications in signal processing.
