Irmeli Nokkanen is a design attorney at Papula-Nevinpat. Irmeli is a european design attorney and a european trademark attorney, and she is also authorized to practice before all courts in Finland.

Irmeli started her Intellectual Property career in 1991 as a lawyer at the National Board of Patents and Registration of Finland. In 1998 she took charge of the global design protection operations of an international telecommunication company. Her broad design protection experience includes handling design registration applications, oppositions and appeals, making registration and rejection decisions, taking part in design legislation work as an expert, drafting and prosecuting design registration applications globally, global design protection strategy work, managing large design portfolios, counseling in design infringement issues and all kind of training in design protection issues.

Irmeli joined Papula-Nevinpat in 2007 as Design Attorney and she is responsible for design protection issues. Irmeli lectures and speaks at conferences especially about EU and RU design protection systems, different ways to protect new designs, design portfolio management, global design protection strategies and enforcement.
