SIMMELVUO MARKKU

Markku Simmelvuo is the managing director and a senior partner at Papula-Nevinpat. He is also the chairman of the Board of Papula Oy, and a European Patent Attorney.

Markku is an active contributor to Finnish as well as international IP organizations in order to develop and promote the Finnish patent expertise and the entire IP field. Markku is currently a member of the Finnish Industrial Property Group, organized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment. He is also a member of the Standing Advisory Committee before the European Patent Office (SACEPO).

Markku has extensive experience in the procedures of Russian and Eurasian Patent Offices. He maintains his international contacts by annually taking part in various international conferences (such as AIPPI, INTA, APAA).

Markku started his intellectual property career in 1994 when he was hired as a patent specialist at Papula-Nevinpat. In 2002 he took up the position as the managing director of our company.
