Optics

Optics is the study of the behavior of light or, more generally, electromagnetic radiation. Traditionally, optics is understood as the use of specific means, such as lenses and mirrors, to control the propagation of light. Today, some examples of the most rapidly growing areas in optics are fotonics, micro-optics, and diffractive optics. Optics is utilized in various technical applications from measurement technology and computer vision to the components of optical telecommunications. Optics is also closely related to areas such as optoelectronics (semiconductor lasers, LEDs, solar cells) and display technologies.
