Speakers
Folke Johansson
Folke Johansson is Director (Patent Department) at Papula-Nevinpat and a European Patent Attorney. He is also a partner in the company and a member of our company’s Legal Team Russia.
Folke first started his Intellectual Property career in 1991 when he was hired as a patent agent at a Finnish patent agency. In 1995 he moved to the telecommunications industry and his extensive patent experience includes identifying and handling inventions, drafting and prosecuting patent applications, patent strategy work, licensing and litigation, purchasing and selling of patents as well as managing large patent portfolios.
Folke joined Papula-Nevinpat in 2010 as Director of the Patent Department where he is responsible for internal processes and competence development as well as for developing client relationships. Folke regularly acts as an expert in patent litigations, and has a lot of experience of Oral Hearings before the European Patent Office (EPO), both before the Examining Division as well as before the Opposition Division and the Boards of Appeal.
Folke travels frequently, lecturing and speaking at conferences about EP, PCT and US patent systems as well as patent management and strategy.
Tomi Konkonen
Tomi Konkonen works as Team Leader for Papula-Nevinpat´s ICT and Electrical Engineering Team and he is a European Patent Attorney. He is also a partner in the company.
Tomi began working in IPR more than 15 years ago. His career started at the National Boards of Patents and Registrations of Finland. He then moved to a post as a patent engineer with Nokia IPR.
In 2002, Tomi moved to work in a private practice. He continued studying and, after spending some time at the European Patent Office in Munich, qualified as a European patent attorney in 2006. In addition to the time spent in Munich, Tomi also completed the Certificate on Patent Litigation in Europe at the Université Strasbourg III for the right to represent a client at the Unified Patent Court. In 2010, Tomi moved to an international patent attorney company and returned back to Finland in 2014.
