European Patent Attorney, PhD, Susa Vilkki, joins Papula-Nevinpat on 1 August 2025

We are pleased to announce that European Patent Attorney, PhD, Susa Vilkki, will join the Chemistry, Biotechnology and Process Technology team at Papula-Nevinpat on 1 August 2025. Susa has extensive experience in intellectual property rights (IPR), having worked in private practice and industry since 2004.

With a strong background in life sciences, biotechnology, biology, biochemistry, and chemistry, Susa has effectively supported companies and business areas by aligning IPR strategies with business objectives, protecting valuable inventions through patents, analyzing IPR and patent risks, prosecuting oppositions and appeals, and enforcing IP rights.

“I’m really looking forward to working on exciting innovations and IPR cases, meeting new faces, and building strong relationships with clients,” says Susa Vilkki. “I am eager to support companies and research units with all their IPR needs.”

Significant changes to intellectual property compensation laws in Russia: Key updates and implications

As Federal Law No. 214-FZ on “compensation for IP infringement” was published on 8 July 2025, it introduced significant changes to the Russian Civil Code regarding the award of compensation for the infringement of intellectual property rights. The law will come into effect in January 2026.
