Patent Specialist Matias Mähönen joins Papula-Nevinpat’s Mechanics and Physics team

We are excited to announce that Patent Specialist Matias Mähönen has joined Papula-Nevinpat’s Mechanics and Physics team on 1 August 2024. Matias holds a Master of Science (Technology) degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Oulu, Finland.

Matias brings valuable experience from his previous role as a patent agent at an IP firm where he worked for the past two and a half years. Additionally, he has substantial experience as a project manager for industrial investment projects and as a mechanical designer for machine design projects.

“I am thrilled to work with inventions and collaborate with clients to protect their intellectual property. I am also very excited to get to know my new colleagues who share the same passion for innovation and excellence,” says Matias Mähönen.

Significant changes to intellectual property compensation laws in Russia: Key updates and implications

As Federal Law No. 214-FZ on “compensation for IP infringement” was published on 8 July 2025, it introduced significant changes to the Russian Civil Code regarding the award of compensation for the infringement of intellectual property rights. The law will come into effect in January 2026.
